Eddye Kirk - Martin School of Dance

Eddye found a love of dance at a young age. She took her first dance class at the age of 3 and hasn’t looked back since! Quickly finding a passion for dance, Eddye trained in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acro, Hip Hop, Heels, Latin, Lyrical, Modern, and Contemporary, with the majority of her training happening at Applause Dance Academy under Barbara Miller. At age 11, Eddye began assistant teaching, and at age 17 she began teaching her own classes. Eddye joined the Martin School of Dance family in 2016 and is grateful to be able to pass her love of dance on to this next generation of dancers!

Eddye has completed all of her examinations in RAD Ballet, ADAPT Tap and Jazz, and CDTA Tap, Jazz, and Modern. Eddye has received a CDTA National Achievement Award in Tap, Jazz, and Modern, and she is an Pre-Associate Member of the CDTA Sask Branch in the Modern Division. As well, she is the dancer in the National CDTA Modern teaching videos, levels 1-6.

Over her years as a dancer, Eddye has received many awards and scholarships across Canada and in Poland when she competed with Team Canada to bring home a silver medal in Ballet/Pointe. She has had the opportunity to train all over the world, taking classes in Madrid, Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, and more. Eddye was selected for, and performed in, the Moscow Ballet youth cast (Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet). Eddye has also found success in her teaching, winning numerous choreography awards for her routines.

Apart from teaching at Martin, Eddye graduated from the University of Regina with a BSc Honours in Psychology and is currently working as a researcher at the Pasqua Hospital. Eddye is currently a member of the 620 CKRM Rider Cheer Team and is coaching the University of Regina Dance Team this season!
