Marissa’s passion for dance began when she was very young. At the age of 3 she took her first dance class and instantly fell in love… 17 years later she is beyond excited to teach at Martin School of Dance & Baton, the studio where she grew up. She has been assisting the younger students since the age of 14 and fell in love with teaching and choreographing just as quickly as she fell in love with dance. Along with teaching, Marissa is currently a student at the University of Regina where she is studying human justice and psychology.
Over the course of her many years of competitive dancing she has completed her examinations in ADAPT Jazz (Intermediate 3), ADAPT Tap (Intermediate 3), and RAD ballet (Grade 8 and Intermediate Foundation), as well as received many awards and scholarships from competitions and conventions all across Western Canada. She has also had the opportunity to train at the Broadway Dance Centre in New York City, has auditioned for and successfully made Team Canada in 2018, and has assisted for the cast of “The Next Step” at Pure Dance for the past two years.
“I have called Martin School of Dance home for almost 17 years and we truly are a family here. I can’t wait to share my experience and my passion for dance with my students and push them to be the best dancers and the best humans that they can be!”
