Sophie Lightheart

Sophie Lightheart danced and twirled at Martin School of Dance & Baton Twirling for 16 years. She trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, acro, and baton. She has been assisting tap, baton, and ballet since she was 13 years old.

Sophie competed at the World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) International Cup 5 times, International Baton Twirling Federation Grand Prix 3 times, WBTF World Baton Twirling Championships 3 times, and the WBTF Pan Pacific Cup once. At these competitions, Sophie competed both as an individual and as part of a team with her SOBG teammates finishing as high as 4th place in team and 5th in pair, as well as a bronze medal finish for Artistic Group in 2019. In 2017, she also received Canadian Pair of the Year along with her pair partner, Josi Treleaven.

She has completed her Masters judging course for baton twirling as well as her Level 1 coach’s course.

Sophie is currently in her last year of a bachelor of business administration degree with a major in finance at the University of Regina.
